Platform Remix License (PRL)
Version 1.0 · Effective Date: August 20, 2026
This license is the sole default license for the entire RunAI template library (all entries under templates/ and games-ref/), applying identically to official and user templates. Publishing a template constitutes acceptance. Per-entry license selection is prohibited. Official entries are additionally dual-licensed under the MIT License. Any substantive change to these terms is versioned as a major release.
1. Copyright Retained
Template creators retain copyright in their templates. Publishing is a grant of rights, not a transfer.
2. Grant to the Platform
The creator grants the platform a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to host, display, package (including bundling into product images and static-domain distribution), and distribute the template, and to generate derived technical artifacts (indexes, thumbnails, checksums, statistics) for operational purposes.
3. Grant to Platform Users
The creator grants all platform users a non-exclusive right to view source, modify, remix, create derivative templates, and republish — within the platform.
4. Derivatives & Attribution
Derivative templates are automatically published under this license; no other license may be attached. Attribution is established by the machine-recorded derived_from lineage chain; in-code attribution comments are not required.
5. Consideration
The creator's consideration consists of: leaderboard exposure, lineage attribution, and — once the revenue-share switch is enabled — a share of revenue computed from actual usage-driven consumption (including multi-level micro-shares along the lineage chain). Enabling revenue share requires no re-acceptance of this license.
6. No Off-Platform Redistribution
The remix/republish rights granted herein exist only within the platform. Redistributing any template as a whole (or in substantial entirety) outside the platform is prohibited and constitutes breach and infringement.
7. Finished Games Belong to Users
A finished game created by a user from a template is not subject to this license: its copyright belongs to that user, portable and commercially usable. Only the act of publishing it back as a template brings that template under this license.
8. Asset Layering
The code layer is governed by this license; assets (audio/images/video etc.) are declared per-file in template.json license.assets[] (procedural / ai-generated / user-upload). Publishers are responsible for rights declarations on uploaded assets.
9. License Purity / Anti-Copyleft
No source code governed by GPL, LGPL, AGPL, or any other copyleft/viral license — nor derivatives thereof — may be introduced into any template. Publishers warrant their submissions are free of such material; violations result in takedown and full publisher liability.
10. Takedown & Remedies
The platform may take down entries violating Sections 6/8/9 or subject to substantiated infringement claims; downstream lineage entries do not automatically lapse, but infringing portions must be removed.
11. No Warranty
Templates are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
